Home Cooking
Dining well is one of the great pleasures of life. It
nurtures our bodies, our sense of being cared for and
cared about, companionship and memories of good times
with family and friends. All meals are prepared from basic
ingredients in our kitchen. We believe that home cooking
helps to make Golden Door feel like Home.
Our meals are prepared under the supervision of our Food Services Manager. Freshness, presentation, smell and taste are integral
to the foods we serve. Home made soups, a specialty of
the house, are prepared daily and hearten each lunch.
Our home baking is warmly welcomed and provides much contentment
during meals and snacks.
We serve three tasty, well-balanced meals and three snacks each day. All are designed to provide optimal nutrition
and enjoyment. A range of diets are available, and are
guided by our Registered Dietition. Working closely with
the Director of Care and the Food Services Manager, the
Dietition monitors and advises on nutritional care and
support for each Resident. Volunteers and staff are available
in the dining room to assist people who cannot eat independently.
Resident preferences and choices are accommodated as much
as possible. Resident/Family Council contributes to the
selection of menus. Families may dine with Residents by
giving notice before 10 a.m. |
